Back to School!

March 5 was the first day of a new school year for our kids, and the first day of class at a new school as well! This year, most of our children are attending a National School called Miguel Grau. The school is located in Salaverry, just up the road from Hogar de Esperanza. The kids have been doing well; they enjoy the opportunity to interact with a larger number of kids of their same age, and we also enjoy the better education they are receiving! We are fortunate to have one of our volunteers, Michi, working in the school, teaching English to the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. This year, two of our boys, Jhon and Alejandro, went to school for the very first time, backpacks and all! They are attending a preschool in Salaverry, nearby where the other kids attend school.

To Every Nation Group Visit!

We were privileged in March to have a group visit from To Every Nation. We loved the energy they brought to their projects and to just hanging out with the kids! Highlights of the week included a water fight, a bonfire, the painting of the inside of the Tesoros house, and the completion of a permanent volleyball court! We truly enjoyed getting to know each member of the group, and we are already looking forward to the next group that comes down! Thank you again!

A Welcome and a Farewell

In March, we welcomed our new volunteer Kinder teacher, Christy! We are so excited to have her join our volunteer family! We also had a going away party for one of our volunteers, Ashley Baer, although she will be coming to volunteer here two days a week. We wish you all the best in your new ministry!
