| March 5 was the first day of a new school year for our kids, and the first day of class at a new school as well! This year, most of our children are attending a National School called Miguel Grau. The school is located in Salaverry, just up the road from Hogar de Esperanza. The kids have been doing well; they enjoy the opportunity to interact with a larger number of kids of their same age, and we also enjoy the better education they are receiving! We are fortunate to have one of our volunteers, Michi, working in the school, teaching English to the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. This year, two of our boys, Jhon and Alejandro, went to school for the very first time, backpacks and all! They are attending a preschool in Salaverry, nearby where the other kids attend school. |
