Hope

We continue to thank God for His provision in the midst of uncertain times at the Hogar de Esperanza. He has provided us with people who are enthusiastic about the prospects of helping out the kids, people who are willing to volunteer their time not only being present at the orphanage but also collecting and bringing donations. He has provided us with contacts that can help us connect with government officials and plow through the bureaucracy. Most of all he has provided us with Hope.

Introducing Canela

One small symbol of that hope for the kids at the orphanage is Canela. (Cinnamon) She is the new dog on the property of Hogar de Esperanza. She is not a replacement for Traci as Traci cannot be replaced. Traci was a street dog that thought of herself as a purebred English Collie. Canela is a dog that was donated to take over the job of making noise and providing that somewhat threatening dog presence while also being a friend to the kids and it seems that she is fitting into the role well. She is part Brazilian Mastiff and has done some time herself on the streets so she can handle herself and identify with the rest of the gang there. She was generously donated and first put her paw on the property last Saturday (November 10th) at noon. Since then she has settled in very well as these pictures attest.

Que Dios les bendiga,
